Melones Beach, Culebra's Sunset Retreat

Melones Beach is a peaceful haven in Culebra, offering a serene escape from the crowds. While it might not be as well-known as Flamenco Beach, Melones have the most amazing and stunning sunsets. The perfect golden hour spot to end your day.

Unlike other Culebra beaches, Melones features a unique blend of sand, rocks, and coral, creating a picturesque coastline. To the right, you'll find Tamarindo Beach, while to the left, a rocky shoreline leads to a secluded bay. Melones's calm waters and peaceful ambiance is perfect for relaxation, reading, and snorkeling in a serene atmosphere.

Melones is an ideal spot for snorkeling, offering clear waters and diverse marine life. While you'll find sea urchins near the shore, be cautious and wear beach shoes to avoid any unpleasant encounters. As you venture towards Tamarindo, you'll discover vibrant coral reefs and sea fans swaying gently in the currents. Melones is also a haven for sea turtles, thanks to its abundance of seagrass. If you're lucky enough to spot one, admire it from a distance and respect its space.

For those who prefer kayaking, Melones' calm waters provide a perfect opportunity for it. While the waters are generally calm, it's important to be aware of potential currents and take necessary precautions.

Melones Beach is a protected area within the Luis Peña Natural Reserve. Please refrain from anchoring or fishing in this area and use the designated anchor buoys.

Melones is a place to unwind, appreciate nature, and escape the hustle and bustle. Discover this tranquil retreat and experience the beauty of Culebra with a sunset that will be forever remembered.
